1980's Horse Racing Belt Buckle - Spectacular Bid & Bud Delp

Check out this sweet vintage metal belt buckle dedicated to Spectacular Bid, a race horse known for nearly winning the Triple Crown back in 1979. After winning the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, Spectacular Bid needed to win the Belmont Stakes to win the Crown. Sadly, in a odd turn of events, Spectacular Bid sustained an injured hoof after stepping on a safety pin. Spectacular Bid still managed to race in the event, but finished in second place behind Golden Act. The moral to the story? Be careful with office supplies.

Wonderfully detailed, the buckle contains an image of Spectacular Bid alongside the horse's trainer Bud Delp. Above both is"The Meadowlands", which which is a horse racing track in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Very nice! Perfect for holding up your pants!

Measurements: 2 15/16" x 2"

Item Condition: Buckle is fully functional and ready to be worn! Buckle has a nicely worn patina, including light scuffing, scratches, etc. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
